Why price varies: Amarnath package cost depends heavily on whether you choose the trek or the helicopter (helicopter fares alone run several thousand rupees per person each way), your departure city, hotel category, group size, and how close to peak Shravan weeks you're travelling. We quote transparently — no hidden charges after booking.

Choose Your Route to the Cave

• Pahalgam route (traditional, ~36–48 km) — Via Chandanwari, Pissu Top, Sheshnag, and Panchtarni. More gradual and scenic; generally preferred by families and first-time yatris, spread over several trekking days.
• Baltal route (~14–16 km) — Shorter but steeper, often completed as a demanding single-day trek. Suits fit, time-constrained pilgrims.
• Helicopter (Baltal–Panchtarni or Pahalgam–Panchtarni) — Covers most of the distance by air, leaving a short final walk (around 6 km) to the cave. The practical choice for seniors, those with limited trekking experience, or a tighter schedule. Seats are limited and go early — we recommend booking as soon as your dates are fixed.

How Booking Works

4. Travel with Support — We handle your CHC and registration guidance, share driver contact and stay confirmation, and remain reachable throughout your yatra.

Pickup, Drop & Transport

• Pickup points: Jammu Railway Station/Airport or Srinagar Airport (Delhi pickup with onward connection, on request)
• Transport: AC/Non-AC vehicles depending on your package and group size, up to Pahalgam/Baltal base camp
• The route from base camp to the cave is trek-only or helicopter — no private vehicles permitted on the pilgrim path
• Drop back at Jammu/Srinagar at the end of the yatra

Stay & Meal Details

• Stay at verified hotels in Srinagar and at the Pahalgam/Baltal base, chosen for cleanliness, safety, and proximity to the registration counter
• Rooms typically on multiple/double sharing; private-room upgrades available where the location permits
• Meals as per the confirmed plan (usually breakfast & dinner); vegetarian food only — alcohol, tobacco, and non-vegetarian items are prohibited on the yatra route
• Basic tented/dorm accommodation at Panchtarni or Sheshnag for the nights spent en route

Best Time, Weather & Route Info

• Yatra availability: The Amarnath Yatra runs for a fixed window each year during Shravan, generally opening in late June/early July and closing in late August, with exact dates announced annually by SASB `[Update yearly]`
• Weather: Unpredictable even in summer — sudden rain, cold, and fog are common at altitude; carry woollens, a windcheater, and waterproof footwear regardless of which week you travel
• Route: Jammu/Srinagar → Pahalgam (Chandanwari → Pissu Top → Sheshnag → Panchtarni) or Baltal (Domail → Panchtarni), both converging near the cave, roughly 6 km short of Panchtarni
• Calmer windows: The first and last couple of weeks of the yatra window are typically less crowded than the peak middle weeks of Shravan

Safety, Medical & Senior Citizen Guidance

The Amarnath Yatra is genuinely demanding — high altitude, uneven terrain, and unpredictable mountain weather, so real preparation matters:

• A Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) from an authorised doctor is mandatory for every pilgrim — no exceptions, and this isn't just a formality given the altitude involved
• Age limits apply: pilgrims must generally be between 13 and 70; pregnant women beyond six weeks are not permitted
• The helicopter option is the recommended choice for senior citizens or anyone with limited trekking capacity
• Carry any regular prescription medicines, and inform your travel coordinator of existing medical conditions in advance
• Medical aid posts and oxygen support are available at intervals along both routes
• We recommend additional travel insurance for your overall trip (not included in the package)

Permits & Registration

• Advance registration through the official SASB portal (jksasb.nic.in) or designated bank branches is mandatory for every pilgrim
• A Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC), issued by an authorised doctor within the window specified for that year's yatra, is required alongside registration
• Every registered yatri must collect an RFID Yatra Card in Jammu or Srinagar before departure — we assist with this collection as part of your booking
• Carry a valid government photo ID (Aadhaar or equivalent) at all times during the yatra
• Helicopter bookings should only be made through official SASB-authorised channels — we assist with this but never charge unofficial markups on official rates
